Armenia, UN sign Development Assistance Framework 2016-2020

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia-UN Development Assistance Framework (2016-2020) with a budget of $119 million was signed by Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative for Armenia, Bradley Busetto, on Friday, July 31.
PM Abrahamyan said that Armenia attaches great importance to UNs Post-2015 development agenda and is going to implement it, once the objectives are adopted in September 2015.
We are also marking the start of a new phase of cooperation between Armenia and the United Nations. Armenia-UN Development Assistance Framework (2016-2020) will serve as a partnership directory for us. The seven main program outputs were developed jointly by the Armenian government, the UNs Armenian team and the civil society. Gender equality, human rights, improved policies, environment sustainability and results-oriented management are the five main baselines for the program, he said.
Busetto said, in turn, that the project outlines the cooperation between Armenia and the United Nations. The program is a strategic tool for planning the UNs assistance, recognizes the progress made by Armenia and seeks innovative solutions to the challenges that Armenia faces, he said.
